Keeping a Workout Log

By Brian Gallichan

Keeping a workout log will help you tremendously in your pursuit of a leaner body. By keeping a workout log, you will have information from your past workouts to look back on.

By consulting your workout log, you will be able to easily see whether you are improving in strength and in the fulfillment of your weight loss goals.

By looking at your workout log, you know the exact exercises that you did on your last workout. You can see sets, reps, and how long you stayed on the treadmill.

This information is crucial for you to know if you are trying to lose weight, because the body only changes when it is pushed beyond the stress of the previous workload.

In other words, if you want to see a change in your body shape, you must use heavier weight than you used during the previous workout, or perform more reps than you performed previously with the same weight.

Your workout log should include the date of your workout, and how long your workout took to complete. Your workout log should also include the exercises that you performed, and how many sets and repetitions that you completed for each exercise.

If you want, you can include a section for notes on your workout log. In this section you would write any special notes that are relevant to your workout that day.
