The Basics of Nutrition
By Brian Gallichan
It is good to know the basics of nutrition, even if you are not planning on becoming a personal trainer. By knowing the basics of nutrition, you will have a better understanding of how weight loss takes place.
Specifically, this article deals with the three major macronutrients of nutrition: protein, carbohydrates and fat.
Protein is made up of amino acids. If you consume all of the amino acids that you require, then you will have consumed all of the protein that you require.
All of the amino acids that a person requires are found in raw fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts. No special food combinations are necessary to meet your protein requirements.
Carbohydrates are sugars and starches that are found in fruits and vegetables. Contrary to popular belief, carbohydrates do not make a person fat.
Rather, carbohydrates fuel the body so that the body can think properly and have enough energy to function throughout the day.
Dietary fat is not dangerous if it is eaten raw. Avocados, coconuts, durians, nuts, and seeds are excellent foods that you can eat as much as you want of.
As long as they are raw, these foods will promote weight loss and perfect health.
Cooked fat is extremely dangerous and will cause disease, weight gain, and death. By eating only fresh, raw foods, you will get all of the nutrients that you need, and you will never get sick.
